  12. - Obviously you will need some mp3 files - get mp3s for example at: http://www.mp3.org/
  13. - If you want to use SoundApp as player download it here: http://www-cs-students.stanford.edu/~franke/SoundApp/
  14. - You can download track information from internet cddb databases with the help of NetCD. Get it here:
  15.    http://macinsearch.com/users/tobyrush/software.html - Install it on your hard disk and configure the software
  16.    according to its manual (set preferences like server location etc.)
  17. - make sure you have AppleScript activated

  20. Exploring the collection database
  21.  
  22. 01. Launch mp3voodoo with a double click
  23. 02. In the File Menu choose "New Collection…" and create a new collection database
  24. 03. The main window appears - Left is the collection part, right the current playlist
  25. 04. To add your mp3 folders to the collection simply drag and drop them to the left side of the window
  26. 05. There are two views: The list view and the cover view - toggle between them with the icons in the top-left corner
  27. 06. Add whole album folders to the playlist by double-clicking their name or dragging them to the playlist
  28. 07. Add single files to the playlist by double-clicking or drag&drop (in list view) or
  29.     clicking on the cover and choosing a title (in cover view)
  30. 08. To directly play a title or an album from the collection double-click on it while holding the command key
  31. 09. To edit album information (ID3 editor) double-click on an item while holding the option key
  32. 10. To add a cover image to a album folder simply drag a picture or image file to the folder
  33.     (better choose small pictures like 170x170 or 128x128)
  34. 11. You may want to change the list view columns: In the view menu select the information to display
  35. 12. Search for titles with the quicksearch field at the top of the window or open the find window

  38. Playlist experiences

  40. 01. Add some titles to the playlist as described above
  41. 02. Change the order of titles by dragging them to another position
  42. 03. Delete selected items with the backspace key
  43. 04. Explore the "Playlist" menu for file handling and other features

  48. - Explore the Preferences dialog! Use third party applications as your player or for playlist handling
  49. - Try the contextual menus that are available for collection and playlist by clicking on items whil holding the control key
  50. - Change the preferences to your needs
  51. - Try different appearances with the "Appearance editor"
  52. - If you have many album folders in your list try the "Playlist constructor" - it's a great help for building a playlist
